THOM BROWNE FW 2013
When I saw the Thom Brown FW 2013 runway makeup looks it immediately reminded me of Elizabeth. It is a quite simple Elizabethan look. White face, red lips and soft red cheeks. Some of the models had also very light colored eyebrows which helped it to look Elizabethan even more. Even though the hair is just put up as an enormous bun and decorated with flowers it somehow looks Elizabethan to me
Especially this last pictures looks very Elizabethan.

What makes this look Elizabethan is definitely the hair. Of course the makeup too but let's start with the hair. The hair was backcombed, giving it a lot of volume. At the back of the head they used , like Elizabethan's did, a caul covered with pearls. Some looks have even white in the hair (front of head) making it look like the face paint that Elizabethan's used got into the hair. When I first saw the makeup it did reminded me somewhat of the Elizabethans but actually more of the Joker :) You can't deny it:) But yes the face is very white and the lips they used a bright red lipstick which was smudged over the edges. As for the eyes, they were heavily covered in black eye shadow. The eyebrows are also quite dark.
